Antoine Vauchez

Antoine Vauchez is a CNRS Research Professor at the Université Paris 1-Sorbonne and Michael Endres Visiting Professor at the Hertie School (2021-2022). He has recently completed a series of three books on law, politics and democracy in the European Union, including a monograph Brokering Europe. Euro-lawyers and the Making of a Transnational Polity (Cambridge University Press, 2015), an essay Democratizing Europe (Routledge, 2016) and a treaty proposal for the democratisation of the EU (together with Thomas Piketty: How to Democratize Europe, Harvard UP, 2019). His most recent book is: The Neoliberal Republic. Corporate Lawyers, Statecraft and the Making of Public-Private France (Cornell UP, 2021).
